The Bible offers us numerous examples of people being delivered from demon spirits. These examples demonstrate how God can rescue us from spiritual attacks and provide us with comfort and peace in difficult times.
The first example of demon deliverance is found in Mark 5. Here, we read the story of a man in the country of the Gadarenes who was possessed by numerous demons. He was so savage that he lived among the tombs in the mountains, and no one was able to restrain him. When Jesus arrived at the scene, the man ran up to Him and knelt down. Jesus commanded the unclean spirits that possessed the man to come out of him. The demons begged Jesus not to send them away, but Jesus expelled them anyway. The man was set free from his demonic possession.
The second example of demon deliverance is found in Matthew 8. Here, we read the story of a man who has been possessed by demons since childhood. He was so powerful that even chains could not bind him. Jesus cast out the evil spirits that possessed him. The man was then restored to his right mind and the comforts of his family.
A third example of demon deliverance can be found in Luke 8. Here, we read the story of a woman who had been possessed by a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years. Jesus cast out the spirit and healed her. He commanded the spirit to come out of her, and the healing was complete. She was again able to stand up straight, something she had not been able to do for eighteen years.
The fourth example of demon deliverance is found in Luke 9. Here, we read the story of a boy who was filled with an evil spirit that caused him to become mute. When Jesus commanded the spirit to come out of the boy, the spirit screamed and left the boy in peace.
The fifth example of demon deliverance is found in Acts 16. Here, we read the story of a woman who had been possessed by a spirit of divination. She opened up her mouth and cried out for many days: ‘These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.’ The apostle Paul commanded the spirit to depart from her, and she was freed from the spirit's control.
The sixth example of deliverance is found in 2 Corinthians 12. Here, we read the story of Paul being attacked by an evil spirit. The Lord responded to Paul's request for help but God responded and said, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." This example is very different from the other examples because the Lord has given us power to tread on serpents and scorpions.
These six examples of deliverance demonstrate God’s power to protect us from spiritual attacks. Even when faced with insurmountable obstacles, we can trust that God is with us and that He will set us free from the enemy’s oppression. The Bible teaches us that no matter how difficult our circumstances may be, God is there to provide us with deliverance and a way out. Finally, Scripture declares in Mark 16:17-18 "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."
