Discovering Your Identity in Christ: Seeking Purpose Through Spiritual Maturity
There is only one high calling and that is in Christ Jesus. As a Disciple of Christ your identity comes from him. You live and move and have your being in him. That’s what we call purpose and it’s hidden in him and needs to be discovered.
You understand that the greatest way in finding your way through life is to put Christ and his Kingdom first. This starts with the born-again experience. That’s where your journey starts, not ends.
Spiritual maturity starts when you put Christ first. You begin by renewing your mind, studying the Word, and being a doer of those things the Holy Spirit shows you. Not only that but facing the spiritual opposition when you begin to walk by faith and not by sight.
Scripture declares, “the just shall live by faith.” Be aware, however, that faith, when applying the Word, has must contention when walked out. In other words, hell doesn’t want you to discover who you are in Christ.
Nevertheless, Satan’s plan doesn’t matter. Christ has given you spiritual authority, specific works, and the ability to see with Kingdom eyes. Jesus said, “For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch” (Mark 13:34).
Again, some struggle to understand that they are not at all common but are uniquely different. Given authority, works and Kingdom eyes. That difference is God’s design. In other words, you are unique and one of a kind. Put Christ first. Study the laws of the Kingdom of God. Apply His word and grow into your purpose. Kingdom eyes are for you.
